Cheatham County Democrats Sponsor Open Forum on Medical Marijuana March 7th
Should use of marijuana be legalized for medical purposes? Does it work? Is it safe for the user and the general community? These questions will be addressed at the Cheatham County Democrats’ third non-partisan discussion of important public issues, to be held at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, at the Ashland City Senior Center, 104 Ruth Drive in downtown Ashland City (just off North Main Street between the hospital and the jail). A distinguished panel including State Rep. Gloria Johnson, Sheriff Mike Breedlove, an advocate, and a Vanderbilt researcher who has been personally involved with the issue will lay out various aspects of this emotional and politically-charged issue, and will answer questions and comments from the audience. This is a subject that could touch the lives of all of us or the people we know and love, and we hope all county residents will take the opportunity to get some straight answers about the pros and cons. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be provided.
