Court rules that all Tennesseans can request an absentee ballot to avoid COVID-19 exposure

A Tennessee court has ruled that persons who do not want to risk COVID-19 exposure at the polls may request an absentee ballot.  An absentee ballot request form can be accessed here.  If you are concerned about possible exposure to COVID-19 by going to the polls in person, you may request an absentee ballot.  On the form, there are various reasons that can be indicated with a check mark.  Use the 5th check box – “I have determined it is impossible or unreasonable to vote in-person due to the COVID-19 situation, and therefore qualify as hospitalized, ill, or disabled and unable to appear at my polling place.”  Complete the form and mail to your county election commission.  To find the address of your local election commission, click here.  For the August 6, 2020 election your request for an absentee ballot must be accepted by the election commission by July 30, 2020.
