Sycamore High lands grant to construct solar panels
Construction will begin in July to erect solar panels at Sycamore High School. The funds were obtained by a grant from TVA with matching funds by individual donors from Cheatham county.
In addition to providing clean energy, the grant supports the development of a solar energy Career and Tech Education program and introducing solar science to students. The Cheatham county BOE approved the Program of study Solar/Battery Systems to be submitted to the state representing modifications of the existing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Program of Study. This provides hands on learning of a cutting edge technology, preparing students for 21st century jobs.
